Islamic Funeral Service
- Islamisk BegravlesesService provide 24/7 funeral and burial services to Muslims in Denmark.
- We ensure and prepare the funeral and burial process is carried out in accordance with Quran and Sunnah.
- Arrange funeral prayer in local mosque, and burial service whether it is in Copenhagen, Odense, Aarhus or Aalborg etc.
- Plan and assist that the funeral process takes place according to the wishes of the family.
- Report and register all the paperwork with the relevant authorities
- Work with local authority to register death and reserve a grave for burial
- Supply a coffin with accessories, arrange for floral tribute etc
- We can assist with Danish and Arabic speaking Imam for ceremonial services.
- Pick up Mayyat (deceased) from home/hospital, bring to the local mosque, and after Janazah transport Mayyat to the graveyard.
- Complete arrangement at the mosque including, ghusl, kafn and refer to Imam for Janazah.
- Arrange for burial in local graveyard in designated section for Muslims or in an entirely Muslim Graveyard in Brøndby.
- Fully trained and equipped to handle and send deceased to airport for ancestral Home burial.
- Assist and refer to a lawyer who deals with distribution of inheritance between the heirs.
- After the funeral, we also help to make sure any grant in the form of funeral assistance is paid to the family.
Services
Death Abroad
The disposition of remains is subject to local (foreign) law and foreign customs requirements, and the
foreign country facilities, which are often vastly different from those in the Denmark.
Generally, the documents required abroad are as follows;
- Submit or show Danish passport or other form as a proof of identity
- Issuance of a local (foreign) death certificate with English attested certificate
- Embassy/consulate may register/prepare a Report of the Death
- Assign an approved freight forwarder (speditør) to expat coffin
- Provide consignee details
- Contact deceased’s travel insurance provider
- Affidavit of local funeral service provider - attesting that the casket contains only the remains of the deceased and the necessary clothing and packing materials
- Transit permit (ligpas) - local health authorities at the port of embarkation will issue a transit permit, which will accompany the remains
- A document to state that the remains have been embalmed
- Certificate with reference whether the deceased died from an infectious disease or not
Irrespective of the foreign funeral provider utilised, we at IBService (International Begravelse
Service) will pick up the coffin at the airports in Denmark.
